Imelda Kilbane

Imelda Kilbane

Imelda Kilbane was born in Liverpool in 1978 and moved to Achill Island in early childhood.She is inspired by the west of Irelands scenery and works largely in monochromatictones. Her work is the result of an innate knowledge, personal memories and thestudy of her native landscape from topography to climate. Atmosphere, drawn fromthemes of beauty and isolation are addressed to create an image that is unseenor less visceral in direct representations.  

Kilbane’s paintings are executed on Fabriano paper usinggoache and acrylic paint, indian ink, pigments and found natural objects. Shereceived a BA in Fine Art from GMIT, Castlebar, Co. Mayo in 2012.
