Anne Donnelly
Born in Belfast in 1932, Anne Donnelly grew up in Co. Carlow. She pursued her education at the College of Art in Dublin, the Escuala de Bellas Artes in Madrid and the Ecole Julienne in Paris.  She traveled and worked for many years, with her husband Carlo Mazzantini, in France, Spain and Morocco before returning to Italy where she took up residence next to the ruins of the Emperor Hadrian's villa in Tivoli.  Donnelly has been exhibiting since the fifties and has had solo exhibitions in the Grafton, Taylor and Pepper Cannister Galleries in Dublin. Throughout the 70's and 80's she held various solo exhibitions at the Galleria La Margherita, Rome and participated in a number of group exhibitions.  Her work has been shown widely throughout Italy and she has held regular exhibitions in the Galleria Il Porto, Rome. Her work was included in major international shows including Joycesight which toured Italy and France and Famine which toured Ireland and the USA.  A member of DUNA, her works can be found in collections in Ireland, Italy, France and the USA.
